On this page you will find plug-ins that enable connectivity with Autodesk programs. Usually, BIM data is transmitted. Transfer of BIM data means: geometry, metadata, and connection points information.

Revit

Installer of the 'REVIT MEP Connector'. Installation of this plug-in enables you to export 'Revit Families' (geometric data, connections information and information on the family types) from VDI3805 portal into the Revit program. After installation of the plug-in please start the Revit. The new pull-down menu item 'Import VDI 3805' appears under 'Additional Modules / External Tools'. When you select this item, your web browser goes to the www.vdi3805-portal.de/autodesk site. Here you can select a product to be exported and over the 'CAD Export' you go to the corresponding graphics page. In dropdown list 'Insert into Autodesk program' you have to select 'Revit' option and press button 'Export CAD data'. The exporting process must be always initiated from the Revit side. Closing of the browser window complets the export action.

Installer of the 'AutoCad MEP Connector'. Installation of this plug-in enables you to export MvParts (geometric data as 3D models as well as 2D views and symbols, connection information and technical data of products) from VDI3805 portal into AutoCAD MEP. After installation of the plug-in please start AutoCad MEP. Either via the pulldown menu 'VDI 3805' or by typing directly http://www.bim4hvac.com the browser, you get to VDI3805 portal. Here you can select a product to be exported and over the 'CAD Export' you go to the corresponding graphics page. In dropdown list 'Insert into Autodesk program' you have to select 'AutoCad MEP' option and press button 'Export CAD data'. The MvPart will be generated in catalog 'VDI3805.apc'. It is a self-generating (by your export) and updatable (already existing MvPart will be overwritten). When the catalog in AutoCad does not open automatically, you can open it with the command 'MVPARTADD'. You can find the exported product in catalog 'VDI3805'. For functioning of data transfer you have to ensure that: a catalog named 'VDI3805' exist (path does not matter, just have to be available), and the file 'RubiMEPMvPart.arx' is loaded (APPLOAD). This is normally controlled from the Setup.
